The story of Amycanbe

Amycanbe hail from Italy. Originally comprised of Marco and Mattia, they formed in 2002 but actually started as a four-piece in 2005, after Francesca and Paolo joined. After the first live performances in clubs, theatres and local bars, Amycanbe recorded a self-produced demo (Yellow Suit - EP) with 5 songs which attracted the attention of critics and attained widespread success. Blow Up magazine placed Amycanbe in the playlist of the best debutant Italian indie band of the 2005. The same year opened for Skin, Sophia, The Devastations and Yuppie Flu. And played the Roma Rock Festival stage. Their debut album 'Being A Grown-Up Sure Is Complicated' was released in October of 2007, produced by Mario Thaler, to critical acclaim. This co-incided with a first UK tour that saw the band playing in Leeds, Bristol, Oxford and Sheffield, as well as the album launch at 12 Bar in London., radio sessions for the BBC, and a 2nd UK Tour that saw the band having some highlights in glorious music-venues such as The Borderline or Scala in London, Komedia in Brighton, the Croft in Bristol and The Gander in Bournemouth. Back in Italy...the brilliant International Festival called “Assalti Al Cuore” in Rimini wanted Amycanbe for one gig that will be marked as one of the greatest in the band's history...and marked a new musical direction and the start of their new project... After one year of intense and succesfull gigs around Italy, the EP called “The World Is Round” is finally out on 25th May 2011. Preceded by a new single and video called “Everywhere”, receives a great feedback seeing the band featured in important blogs and magazines such as Listenbeforeyoubuy, The London Music Blog and Kismet Magazine (7.1 Milion readers worldwide) and the video played on MTV New Generation, VIVA and many others... The long waited brand new album "Mountain Whales" is out on late October 2011.

Gli Amycanbe provengono da Cervia. In origine creati da Marco e Mattia, si formano nel 2002, ma in pratica si costitiscono come quartetto nel 2005, dopo l'arrivo di Francesca e Paolo Subito dopo le prime performance dal vivo in club, teatri e bar della zona, realizzano un primo demo autoprodotto (Yellow Suit - EP) con 5 canzoni che attrae l'attenzione della critica ottenendo un largo consenso. La rivista Blow Up gli inserisce nella playlist delle migliori band debuttanti italiane del 2005 e nel corso dell'anno sucessivo aprono i concerti di Skin, Sophia, The Devastations e Yuppie Flu, e salgono anche sul palco del Roma Rock Festival L'album di debutto "Being A Grown-Up Sure Is Complicated" esce nell'ottobre del 2007, prodotto da Mario Thaler, acclamato dalla critica. La cosa porta ad un primo tour in UK che vede la band suonare a Leeds, Bristol, Oxford e Sheffield, così come al 12 Bar di Londra per la serata di lancio del disco, e poi session radiofoniche per la BBC ed un secondo tour in UK che tocca picchi di eccellenza in locali gloriosi quali il Borderline o la scala di Londra, il Komedia di Brighton, il Croft di Bristol ed il Gander di Bornemouth. Di ritorno in Italia...l'importante Festival "Assalti al Cuore" di Rimini vuole gli Amycanbe per un concerto che viene poi riproposto più tardi al teatro Petrella di Longiano e che rimarrà uno dei più speciali nella storia della band...rimarcando la nuova direzione musicale intrapresa e l'inizio di un nuovo progetto... Dopo un anno di intensi concerti in giro per l'Italia, il 25 Maggio 2011 esce finalmente l'EP intitolato The World is Round. Preceduto dal nuovo singolo e video "Everywhere", riceve grande riscontro vedendo la band sui più importanti blog e riviste come Listenbeforeyoubuy, The London Music Blog e Kismet Magazine (7.1 milion di lettori nel mondo) ed il video su MTV New Generation, VIVA e molti altri... Il nuovo attesissimo album "Mountain Whales" in uscita a fine ottobre.
